The Roads Fund Administration has two new board members

Mr Chancy Gondwe takes over from Ms Bernadette Mandoloma as Board Chairperson

The Roads Fund Administration (RFA) has two new board members. They are Mr Chancy Gondwe and Mr Paul Guta. The appointment of the two is with effective from 1st November 2018.

Mr Chancy Gondwe is a legal practitioner and represents the general interest of the public on the board of the RFA. He replaces Mr Matthews Chikankheni who had served on the RFA Board for two three-year terms from November 2012, first as a representative of the Malawi Confederation Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCCI) and later, the general interest of the public.

Mr Paul Guta is the current president of the Bankers Association of Malawi and represents the financial institutions in Malawi. He replaces Ms Bernadette Mandoloma who had served on the RFA Board as Board Chairperson for a three-year term from November 2015.

The other five continuing board members of the RFA are:

·         Mr Lester Tandwe (representing the Malawi Confederation Chamber of Commerce and Industry);

·         Mr Stanley Chuthi (representing the National Local Government Finance Committee);

·         Right Rev. Dr. Joseph Bvumbwe (representing the fuel pricing authority, MERA) and

·         two ex-officio members, the Secretary to Treasury and the Secretary for Economic Planning and Development.

A member of the RFA Board, other than the ex-officio members, holds office for a period of three years from the date of his or her appointment and is eligible for re-appointment at the expiry of that period.
