Commission,\u00a0second-best\u00a0access to information\u00a0act (ATIA) implementation\u00a0institution\u00a02025.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>The award was presented by\u00a0Malawi Human Rights Commissioner\u00a0Bonface\u00a0Massa\u00a0during the\u00a0International Day of Universal Access to Information Commemoration\u00a0Day\u00a0held\u00a0on 10 October 2025\u00a0in Mzuzu.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>The award signifies the strides\u00a0the RFA has made in\u00a0implementation of the ATIA,\u00a0ensuring the public access information\u00a0effectively.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s theme was empowering communities\u00a0through digital literacy.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>For\u00a0organisations\u00a0to be recognized they\u00a0must\u00a0comply\u00a0with\u00a0the provisions of the\u00a0access to information act, amongst which\u00a0it\u00a0should have\u00a0appointed\u00a0information officers, review committee, provide\u00a0responses\u00a0to\u00a0requests for\u00a0information,\u00a0submit\u00a0annual access to information reports to parliament and ministry of information and digitization.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>In her opening remarks, commissioner Teresa Ndanga commended RFA for consistently being nominated for the past two years the best performing public institution, which demonstrates commitment to openness and transparency.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:image
