{"id":9402,"date":"2026-07-03T17:31:33","date_gmt":"2026-07-03T17:31:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rfamw.com\/?p=9402"},"modified":"2026-07-03T17:33:22","modified_gmt":"2026-07-03T17:33:22","slug":"roads-fund-administration-showcases-infrastructure-financing-achievements-at-national-construction-industry-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rfamw.com\/index.php\/2026\/07\/03\/roads-fund-administration-showcases-infrastructure-financing-achievements-at-national-construction-industry-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Roads Fund Administration Showcases Infrastructure Financing Achievements at National Construction Industry Day"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Roads Fund Administration Showcases Infrastructure Financing Achievements at National Construction Industry Day<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Roads Fund Administration (RFA) today, 3<sup>rd<\/sup> July 2026, joined other key players in the construction sector in commemorating the National Construction Industry Day held at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe under the theme of \u201c<strong><em>promoting quality, innovation and sustainable infrastructure development\u201d.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the commemoration the RFA exhibited its works which attracted the Public. &nbsp;The exhibition showcased the institution&#8217;s role and mandate in mobilizing resources for road construction, rehabilitation and maintenance in Malawi. Information on the RFA&#8217;s operations and achievements was shared through video presentations, brochures, leaflets and information booklets distributed to visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During a presentation to the Minister of Transport and Public Works, the RFA Director of Finance, Alex Makhwatha highlighted the Administration&#8217;s significant contribution towards the country&#8217;s infrastructure development through innovative financing mechanisms and prudent management of the Road Fund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Director noted that the RFA has successfully financed several landmark infrastructure projects, including the construction of the Kamuzu Central Hospital Interchange, the Saulos Klaus Chilima Highway, Mzimba Street, and the country&#8217;s first interchange at Area 18, through the Road Fund Bond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, the Administration has been financing the Special City Roads Rehabilitation Programmes for over 10 years in the four cities of Zomba, Lilongwe, Mzuzu and Blantyre.&nbsp; The Programme has been extended to Luchenza, Mangochi and Kasungu Town Councils&nbsp; Through toll revenues, the RFA also financed the rehabilitation of the Zalewa\u2013Kammwamba section of the M1 Road.
