RFA HEADQUARTERS DOMINATE THIRD WORK IMPROVEMENT AND INNOVATION AWARDS

On Friday, 6 February 2026, the Roads Fund Administration conducted the third Work Improvement and Innovation Awards held at RFA head offices.

Speaking before the presentation of the awards the Chairperson for the Work Improvement and Innovation, Mr. Dalitso Kadzamira thanked everyone who had submitted their proposal. “This is the third time we have evaluated proposals for consideration of awards. The committee was thrilled with the increased number of submissions with headquarters ranking high out of 16 submissions, 11 were from the head office. This is very encouraging especially that the best awardees also came from the head office.”

The winning submissions were from Mr. Shukran Buleya ICT Intern and Ms. Yankho Chisi, Accounts Assistant.

Shukrani’s submission is about a proposal to introduce an automated digital stores requisition system. Considering that the current manual paper-based requests cause delays, errors and are not cost effective in terms of paper usage, the adoption of an automated stores requisition system will result in speedy approvals, reduced costs, improved stock management, enhanced accountability and audit readiness.

Yankho’s idea was about introducing a task tracker that would be integrated into existing workflows. She gave an example of this tracker being used in invoice processing from submission to payment. The expectation is that the tracker would improve accountability, visibility, adherence to client service charter and efficiency across all departments

The two went away with gift vouchers and letters of recognition for their submissions.

In his remark, the Chief Executive Officer thanked everyone who submitted ideas which will improve our work.

He called upon all employees to spare time to think about innovations.

The Works Improvement and Innovation Committee was constituted to foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging employees to share great ideas and suggestions for positive change in RFA.
