RFA Scoops Second Best Malawi Human Rights Commission, Access To Information Award

The Roads Fund Administration has been awarded the Malawi Human Rights Commission, second best access to information act (ATIA) implementation institution 2025.

The award was presented by Malawi Human Rights Commissioner Bonface Massa during the International Day of Universal Access to Information Commemoration Day held on 10 October 2025 in Mzuzu.

The award signifies the strides the RFA has made in implementation of the ATIA, ensuring the public access information effectively.

This year’s theme was empowering communities through digital literacy.

For organisations to be recognized they must comply with the provisions of the access to information act, amongst which it should have appointed information officers, review committee, provide responses to requests for information, submit annual access to information reports to parliament and ministry of information and digitization.

In her opening remarks, commissioner Teresa Ndanga commended RFA for consistently being nominated for the past two years the best performing public institution, which demonstrates commitment to openness and transparency.
