In his remark, RFA CEO Stewart Malata said that, “We have started receiving fuel levy funds which has triggered the need to engage the city councils to kick start road maintenance and rehabilitation. For a start, we are allocating K15.5billion for this financial year and we will keep monitoring progress. This will be reviewed at mid-year depending on circumstances, the RFA may increase funding”.
“Our expectation is that the funds will be used effectively and efficiently and that there will be value for money in the utilisation of the funds. We are looking at road works that will last the rehabilitation life of the road,” reiterated Malata.
